TAURIC CHERSONESOS. Chersonesos. Late 1st century BC-early 1st century AD. AE (Bronze, 19 mm, 3.11 g, 12 h), CY 78 = 53 AD. XEP - OH Laureate head of Chersonas to right; to right, star above serpent. Rev. Nike advancing left, holding wreath in her right hand and palm frond in her left; to left, monogram. RPC I 1944. SNG Moskau 3700-6. SNG Stancomb 953. An exceptionally well preserved example. Somewhat smoothed and with a flan fault on the reverse, otherwise, extremely fine.
